Shaktisinh, the Haryana Congress’ in-charge Shaktisinh Ghil was elected Tuesday to chair a meeting of the various committees formed for the party’s Bharat Yodo Yatra. The party is expected to enter the state at December 21.
The first phase of Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra will continue until December 23. The Yatra will then re-enter Haryana via Uttar Pradesh at Sanoli Khurd in Panipat on January 6.
The Yatra started in Kanyakumari on Sept 7, and has since covered Tamil Nadu (Andhra Pradesh), Kerala, Karnataka Telangana, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. It is currently traversing Rajasthan and will reach Jammu and Kashmir by February 2023.
Ashok Arora (a senior leader of Haryana Congress) stated that at Tuesday’s meeting, all the committees were given responsibilities. He also announced the route for the Yatra. Arora, a member one of the committees, was present at the meeting in Delhi together with senior leaders to discuss the possibility of the Haryana leg.
Recent Haryana Congress constitutions 14 new committees. Party leaders are also given responsibility for the Bharat Yodo Yatra.
Firozpur Jhirka will be the entry point for Haryana’s yatra. It will arrive in Haryana on December 21st from Nuh district. Night stay will be at Bhadas village. He said that the yatra would move towards Ghasera the next morning before stopping in Sohna in Gurugram district. On December 23, the yatra will travel towards Faridabad.
After Haryana has been re-entered in the second phase of the rally, a large rally will be held in Panipat on January 7. Arora explained that the yatra will then travel through Punjab, Kurukshetra and Ambala.
In attendance were former chief minister of Haryana and Leader of Opposition at the state Assembly Bhupinder Singh Hooda. Also present was Udai Bhan (the president of the state Congress), Rajya Sabha MPs Deepender Singh Hooda Randeep Singh Surjewala and MLA Kiran Chaudhary.
