Asus displayed a number of other products at the Consumer Electronics Show, 2023. The new Xbox controller was one of them. The new Asus Xbox PC controller includes standard Xbox buttons but offers more options. It has an OLED screen and many connectivity options. The controller is called ROG Raikiri Pro. It will be released later in the year.
The new Asus ROG Raikiri Pro has a small 1.3-inch OLED screen with a resolution (128×40 pixels) right above the Xbox buttons. It displays important notifications like when the controller is charging and if it has attempted to pair with the Bluetooth device. This is a nice feature, but Asus isn’t the only one to put a display on an Xbox Controller. It’s the first controller to provide three connectivity options.
Bluetooth, a low-latency, 2.4GHz RF mode and a wired USB C provide connectivity. The top of the controller features two buttons that allow you to switch between controller profiles during games. The Asus Armoury Crate app allows for button remapping and joystick sensitivity. There are also trigger modes, dead zones, and joystick sensitivity that can be customized on the Raikiri Pro. You can also program the rear buttons, trigger locks and circular D-pad.
Asus has pitched the Raikiri Pro as a PC controller that can also be connected to Xbox Series X, Series S consoles using wired USB C. But the pro features will only work on the PC. Raikiri Pro includes an ESS DAC built in, a 3.5mm headphones jack and a mute key for a better gaming experience. The price of the Raikiri Pro is not yet known by Asus. The launch date of the Raikiri Pro is currently unknown. However, the controller should arrive sometime during the first quarter.
